Forget the Hoax, Ron Paul is a Presidential Front Runner -

Forget the Hoax, Ron Paul is a Presidential Front Runner -

The Republican establishment, spearheaded by neo-con talking heads like Rush Limbaugh, are once again party to an orchestrated hoax as part of an effort to sideline Ron Paul by claiming he is a fringe candidate even as his success in national polls prove he is a powerful front runner for the 2012 presidential election.

During a recent monologue on his radio show, Limbaugh, who once admitted that he was a water carrier for the Republican Party, claimed that Ron Paul would destroy the GOP, and that Paul’s supporters were “nuts on parade”.
As the video above illustrates, not only has Ron Paul received more than double the amount of donations from active duty military personnel than all of the other Republican candidates combined, he has also raised more money from the troops than President Obama himself.
By characterizing Ron Paul supporters as “nuts on parade,” Limbaugh has simultaneously insulted the thousands of U.S. troops he routinely claims to support.
The Texan Congressman’s recent success in nationwide polls underscores how promising his chances are as we approach the height of the election season, a prospect that has the establishment running scared.
- According to numerous different polls, Paul romped to victory in Thursday’s presidential debate in Iowa. He received more than triple the number of votes garnered by runner-up Newt Gingrich, according to a Fox News poll which was later pulled from the Fox News website.
The Washington Post speculates that Paul could win the key Ames straw poll this weekend or at the very least perform well against the likes of Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann and former Minnesota governor Tim Pawlenty.
- A new CNN/ORC poll shows that Ron Paul is a front runner nationally, currently tied in third with 12 per cent behind Romney and Perry.
Ron Paul has consistently won major Republican straw polls, including theRepublican Leadership Conference poll, and the crucial CPAC straw poll.
- Ron Paul led the other candidates in both first and second quarterfundraising.
- Every other candidate is a compromised RINO Republican who has betrayed their own rhetoric with their past behavior. Mitt Romney was the author of an almost identical proposal to Obamacare, Rick Perry is an affirmed globalist, Michele Bachmann, the so-called Tea Party (Taxed Enough Already) candidate, is a former tax collector, Herman Cain is a former Federal Reserve insider. Ron Paul is the only genuine true conservative who can be trusted to stick to his principles.
As we pointed out last year, Ron Paul is the only presidential candidate who can defeat Obama. Despite Obama’s plummeting popularity, Paul’s GOP rivals, the likes of Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney, have all lost support at a similar pace to the President.
The talking point being repeated by neo-cons and other establishment media types of ‘I like Ron Paul, but he cannot win,’ is a transparent bid to manipulate the American people by pretending that Paul is a fringe candidate even as his poll successes prove he is a front runner.
Only by challenging this fraud head on can we communicate the fact that Ron Paul’s policies represent the only solution to help rescue a crumbling America that has been gutted economically, socially and geopolitically by decades of phony partisanship and a complete abrogation from both parties of the constitutional foundation of the country.

A California institute plans to reboot its listening post for intelligent life in space, with private donations to replace government cutbacks.
Back in April, the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI) Institute was forced to shut down its $30-million radio telescope array, designed to hear potential signals from alien life forms, for lack of funds.
But officials with the nonprofit institute in northern California’s Mountain View appealed for donations. This week, they said the total raised had surpassed their $200,000 goal.
That was due to the generosity of more than 2,400 donors, including actress Jodie Foster and Apollo 8 astronaut Bill Anders, they said.
As a result, the institute said it expects to restart the telescope array in September and keep it running at least through the end of the year.
The plan is still dependent upon the center receiving an unspecified amount of funds from the U.S. Air Force to track space debris that could damage satellites.
Thomas Pierson, chief executive of the SETI Institute, said he expects the nearly finalized deal with the Air Force will, combined with the private funds, allow the group’s Allen Telescope Array to again listen for space chatter.
“For those who are interested in understanding whether intelligent life might be out there elsewhere in our galaxy, the Allen Telescope Array and our SETI team doing the research is the best bet,” Pierson said.

Obama Compares Himself to Martin Luther King -

Obama Compares Himself to Martin Luther King -

At least it wasn’t Jesus.

At a small, exclusive New York City fundraiser Thursday night featuring the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow and movie mogul Harvey Weinstein, Obama compared himself and his agenda to that of Martin Luther King Jr.

And now that King has his own memorial on the Mall I think that we forget when he was alive there was nobody who was more vilified, nobody who was more controversial, nobody who was more despairing at times.  There was a decade that followed the great successes of Birmingham and Selma in which he was just struggling, fighting the good fight, and scorned, and many folks angry.  But what he understood, what kept him going, was that the arc of moral universe is long but it bends towards justice.  But it doesn’t bend on its own.  It bends because all of us are putting our hand on the arc and we are bending it in that direction.  And it takes time.  And it’s hard work.  And there are frustrations.

Mr. Obama, I knew Martin Luther King. Martin Luther King was a friend of mine . . .

San Francisco Cops Jam Cell Phones to Prevent Protest -

San Francisco Cops Jam Cell Phones to Prevent Protest -

It's not just the London police and Middle East dictators who try to curb unrest by clamping down on communications networks. According to reports, police in San Francisco are jamming cell phones to head off protesters.
Protesters had planned to gather at a San Francisco BART station during rush hour to protest the fatal July shooting of Charles Hill by a BART police officer. But the protest never materialized. One reason, possibly, is the extreme lengths police went to make sure potential protesters couldn't communicate. From CBS San Francisco:
As an added precaution, the agency shut off cellphone service on the station's platform. While Alkire said the tactic was an unusual measure, he said it was "a great tool to utilize for this specific purpose" given that the agency was expecting a potentially volatile situation.
"This group seems to want to challenge BART, challenge the police department," Alkire said.

This has caused a twitter firestorm, under the hashtag #muBARTek, a reference to Internet-killing former Egyptian dictator Hosni Mubarak. The hacktivist collective Anonymous has already started planning Operation BART.
Some are saying that was illegal, because only federal agencies are allowed to block communications and BART isn't one. Even it if it is legal: Does San Francisco really want to be Johnny-come-lately to the hot new trend set by brutal Middle East dictators?
Update: According to a BART statement, police didn't technically "jam" cell phones. They asked wireless providers to turn off their signal in the station.

"If the US was a family, they would be making $58K /yr, but they spend $75K/yr and have $327K in credit card debt -

Something everyone can understand without stressing the brain :

"If the US Government was a family, they would be making $58,000 a year,
but they spend $75,000 a year and have $327,000 in credit card debt.

They are currently proposing BIG spending cuts to reduce their spending to
$72,000 a year.

These are the actual proportions of the federal budget & debt, reduced to an
understandable level."

Honda plans nuclear mission for robot ASIMO - emergency work inside the crippled Fukushima Daiichi -

Honda plans nuclear mission for robot ASIMO - emergency work inside the crippled Fukushima Daiichi -

Japan's Honda is hoping to retool its humanoid robot ASIMO for a nuclear mission so it can join emergency work inside the crippled Fukushima Daiichi plant, a press report said Friday.
The company aims to upgrade the robot's upper body functions so that it can move its arms as smoothly as a human being, with motorised shoulders, elbows and wrists, the Asahi Shimbun newspaper reported.
The current ASIMO, introduced in 2000 and resembling a small astronaut, stands 130 centimetres (4 feet 3 inches) tall. The bipedal bot can walk or run, carry trays, push carts and shake hands with people.
But to work in the debris-strewn nuclear plant, ASIMO would likely be modified and fitted with tyres or caterpillar tracks, the report said.
No official at Honda's head office was immediately available for comment.
The plant has been leaking radiation from its reactors since its cooling systemswere knocked out by the March 11 earthquake and tsunami. At some hotspots radiation is high enough to be lethal to humans.
Robots have already been used inside the plant to take video footage, including the US-made PackBot and Japanese-made Quince crawler robots.

Mexico uncovers tunnel beneath US border - inside a house in the border town of Tijuana -

Mexico uncovers tunnel beneath US border - inside a house in the border town of Tijuana -

Mexican troops have discovered an unfinished 300-meter (980-foot) tunnel beneath the US border that would likely have been used to smuggle drugs and people, officials said Friday.
Mexican General Alfonso Duarte announced the find, saying the entrance to the tunnel was inside a house in the border town of Tijuana that was made to appear as though it was under construction.
He added that 10 people were detained in the operation, including a woman who had been helping to dig the tunnel for nearly a year.
The tunnel was around 1.8 meters (six feet) high and a meter (three feet) wide, and had a lighting and ventilation system, officials said.
US officials said in June that more than 150 secret tunnels for smuggling people and drugs into the United States have been found since 1990.
Mexico has seen a wave of unrest in recent years as powerful drug cartelshave battled over lucrative trade routes to the United States, with some 41,000 people killed in drug-related violence since 2006.
That year President Felipe Calderon launched a massive military crackdown, which critics say has led the cartels to develop more advanced tactics and more brutal methods without bringing security to border communities.
