Motorola wants you to tattoo a smartphone microphone onto your throat -

Okay, where to start on this one? Simply put, Motorola has applied for a patent of a microphone with a transceiver and power supply that is designed to be tattooed onto your throat. The idea is to capture vibrations directly from your larynx in order to cut out background noise -- while eliminating something else you could lose, we imagine. The skin-borne device could communicate with your handset or other portable device by Bluetooth, NFC or other wireless protocols and would pack a battery that "may or may not be rechargeable." The patent adds that the technology could also be applied to "other animals," so we're a bit concerned that Motorola is taking its wearable schemes in the wrong direction.

Thieves Target Homes With Doggy Doors... -

Thieves Target Homes With Doggy Doors... -

A number of Douglas County homes are being targeted by thieves because of their dog doors.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s office says that since Oct. 18 there have been six dog door robberies within a mile span.

Greg Mueller is a Highlands Ranch resident and one of the victims of these robberies.

“They are pretty bold. You’d think with a doggie door there’s dog in the house, so you’d think it might deter them but it didn’t,” said Mueller, whose iPhone and cash were stolen while he and his wife slept.

Mueller locked every door in the house before going to bed except for one.

“There’s really no way to lock a plastic slab doggie door,” said Mueller.

Ipads, cellphones and cash are among the items that have been stolen. All robberies happened between 2 and 6 a.m.

Deputy Chad Teller says there has been no description of the suspects, but the same person is believed to be responsible for all the crimes.

“It’s going to be somebody small that’s going through the pet doors, possibly a female,” said Teller.

Teller said homeowners with dog doors should do all they can to prevent access by someone unwanted through the door. They suggest putting something in front of it when you go to sleep at night.

Drunk Man Wakes Up in Body Bag in Morgue After Big Night Out -

Drunk Man Wakes Up in Body Bag in Morgue After Big Night Out -

It was one of those nights for 56-year-old Marek Michalski. One of those nights when "one more" seemed like a good idea - but wasn't. He was found passed out on a bench in Piotrkow, Poland without a pulse. Concerned citizens called an ambulance and he was whisked away.
Fade to Black:
Fade in:
It's hours later. It's dark. It's quiet.
Marek awoke in a body bag and screamed for help but nobody heard him. He then rolled the bag off the table and extricated himself from his premature eternal sleeping bag to find himself in the morgue.
He told local media, "I remember sitting on a bench and the next thing I woke up in a morgue. Someone has to pay for this, I have nightmares now about being sliced up by doctors who don’t realize I am alive and want to do an autopsy."
Marek intends to file suit against the hospital which gave a glimpse of its razor sharp defense: "They [the staff] believed that the man was dead and followed procedure by putting him inside a sealed bag."
The moral of the story is if you plan to drink a lot, try not to die...if even for a short while.

Joe Biden calls to congratulates wrong Martin Walsh on Boston mayoral victory -

On the night Martin Walsh was elected mayor of Boston, Vice President Joe Biden made sure to call the incoming Democrat to offer his congratulations.

Trouble is, he phoned the wrong Martin Walsh, according to the Boston Globe.

“You son of a gun, Marty!” Biden reportedly said. “You did it!”

The Marty Walsh at the focus of the vice president’s glee was a former aide to U.S. Senator Edward M. Kennedy who is now the president of Gateway Public Solutions, a Boston-based government relations firm.

Walsh thanked Biden for his kind words after telling him that he had reached the wrong Marty, the paper said. He offered his help to track down the incoming mayor.

Also on Tuesday night, the wrong Walsh received phone calls from several Democratic luminaries, including Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla., the chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee.

TEST INFO REVEALED ObamaCare site could only handle 1,100 users per DAY -

The problem-plagued ObamaCare website was only equipped to handle 1,100 users a day before it was launched, documents released by the House Oversight and Reform Committee reveal.

The Obama administration has repeatedly insisted that the website’s repeated crashes were due to unexpectedly high traffic. U.S. Chief Technology Officer Todd Park said on Oct. 6 that the website was expected to draw around 60,000 simultaneous users but instead drew many more, around 250,000.

However, a Healthcare.gov testing bulletin from Sept. 30, the day before the site’s launch, states that the website began to run into trouble with far fewer users.

“Currently we are able to reach 1,100 users before response time gets too high,” the bulletin states.

The bulletin says that the goal moving forward was to “conduct more thorough testing with (the Federally Facilitated Marketplace) to reach targets of up to 10,000 concurrent users in the next few days.”
