The double-double is pulling out of Afghanistan.
Tim Hortons announced today that along with the bulk of Canadian troops, it will be withdrawing from the Canadian Forces base in Kandahar, Afghanistan next week.
“It has been an absolute privilege and honour for Tim Hortons to be associated with the military and bring a little taste of home to the brave Canadian soldiers serving overseas,” Tim Hortons chairman and CEO Paul House said in a release. “We are flattered that so many troops from different nations also made Tim Hortons a part of their everyday routine.”
The Tim Hortons outlet, which opened on Canada Day in 2006, served 4 million cups of coffee, three million donuts and half a million iced cappuccinos.
Proceeds from the outlet went to support troops and their families.
Tuesday will be the outlet’s last day.
